30 Years and Counting

To be successful in the homebuilding industry these days, it takes more than just hammers and nails. It also takes dedication and a willingness to go above and beyond to make homebuyers happy. For the past 30 years, Mitch Block, Director of Sales and Marketing at The Orchards Group, has strived to really understand his homebuyers and build relationships with them.

“I love seeing the smiles on their faces and getting a sense of their appreciation,” said Mitch. “This is all borne out by the fantastic number of referrals we get from our existing owners.  They are truly the best salespeople we have”.

Back in 1981, after receiving his MBA, Mitch did not like working in the corporate world.  A friend suggested a career in homebuilding, and 30 years later he is still working in an industry that, even with today’s challenges, is a business he loves.  His career has taken him to Denver, Philadelphia and Atlanta.  He has served on the National Sales and Marketing Council’s Board of Trustees and was the Co-Chair of its Local Sales and Marketing Council.  From 1994 to 2001, Mitch even owned his own real estate marketing consulting firm, M. Block and Associates, Inc.

In 2001, prior to his becoming a member of their team, Mitch purchased a new home for his mother in an Orchards Group community. She loved her home, and he was very pleased with The Orchards Group’s customer service.  Mitch felt that the team truly put its customers’ needs first and understood how to make homebuyers happy.

When Mitch was offered a job at The Orchards Group in 2005, it was a no-brainer. He supports the sales team, helps plan what inventory is built, creates marketing ideas and advertising programs, researches the market and develops strategic plans for the builder. Mitch loves that he can be creative and do something that is always interesting, challenging and ever-changing.

To keep The Orchards Group thriving, Mitch helps build strong brand awareness. The Orchards Group works solely with the senior market, and Mitch wants to make sure that buyers know the builder wants to enhance their lifestyles.
