Each of The Orchards Group’s communities has a warm, community feel to it, making the neighborhoods inviting places to live. While the strong bonds of community make The Orchards Group’s communities special places to live, they have inspired one staff member to stay working in them for nearly 15 years.
Warranty technician Joey Freeman was one of the original Orchards staff members when the builder began building communities in 1998. As a warranty technician, Joey travels between Brannon Oak Farm, Habersham Grove and East Cherokee performing everyday maintenance tasks and warranty work on the ranch homes.
On a daily basis, Joey helps residents with upkeep on their low-maintenance homes. “Most commonly, I do warranty work on move-ins and inside the house,” he said.
In his 15 years with The Orchards Group, Joey has gotten to know and develop personal friendships with the residents in each of the communities. “In every neighborhood, I know everybody, and we’re on a first-name basis,” he said. “If anything goes wrong, I’m the one they’ll call.”
While customer service can sometimes be a trying job, Joey appreciates the work and says that the residents make it worthwhile and enjoyable.
He credits residents’ friendliness with making him want to stick to the job over the years. “I like working with the people and being outside, and Orchards is a good company to be working for,” he said.
