Nothing Better than a Second Orchards Group Home

In Atlanta real estate, the saying is “location, location, location,” but talking to Charlie Smiley, the saying might go something like, “location, reputation, re-location.”

Charlie was looking to relocate to a condominium upon retirement. He looked across the southeast buying condominiums in Mississippi and Alabama, but kept looking for the perfect home. Charlie was thorough in his search; he commented that when an active adult is looking for a new home, they must know all their options. But after moves and investments in different condominiums, he still wasn’t completely happy with his home and wasn’t as close to family as he wanted.

In 2003, Charlie moved again and tried something different: this time he relocated to Atlanta. He chose The Orchards Group’s Windward community. “We looked at a number of communities and spent months looking for a home building company that was stable, had a good reputation and was centrally located where we wanted to be- close to family,” Charlie said.

Both ‘location, reputation and relocation’ were found in the Orchards Group’s Atlanta condos for the Smileys. “The company is very reputable, responsive to our needs, and we have great confidence in them,” he said.

Upon remarrying, Charlie and his wife decided more space was needed to accommodate the dozen or so grandchildren the happy couple shared. “When we relocated to another property up here in Cherokee County, Orchards was our first thought,” Charlie said. The couple then moved into Orchards’ East Cherokee community where they have lived happily ever after. Charlie and his wife enjoy entertaining their families in their ranch condominium on a regular basis. The Smileys love East Cherokee because they can take care of all their needs within the community and particularly like being within walking distance of Publix and Kroger. “It worked out very well,” he said.
