In the first seven months of 2012, the active adult builder has already exceeded all of last year’s sales by 45 percent. The builder projects that sales will remain strong, and that they will double 2011’s sales by the end of 2012.
A closer look at this year’s sales figure show that sales to out of state buyers have increased by 30 percent this year, while sales to Atlanta area buyers have increased by 400 percent. This staggering figure can be attributed to the fact that the Atlanta resale market has gotten much healthier. Buyers who decided they wanted to sell and move two to three years ago are finally able to sell their homes at competitive prices and move into their new active adult dream home.
“I want to reassure prospective Atlanta buyers that the resale market in the metro area has improved. We have seen a decrease in the number of foreclosures, which has helped improve the viability of many resale markets,” said Mitch Block, director of sales and marketing for the company.
