At The Orchards Group’s metro Atlanta active adult communities, The Orchards of Brannon Oak Farm and The Orchards of East Cherokee, residents enjoy a plethora of amenities and activities that enhance their lifestyle and bring something new to every day. However, one aspect of the lifestyle at The Orchards Group’s two communities sets them apart from other active adult communities. Many of the activities and events are organized and run by the homeowners themselves, even though some of the events are sponsored by The Orchards Group.
By allowing the homeowners to take responsibility for their lifestyle, residents become more personally involved in the community, and these types of events have proven to be more successful than those organized by a Social Director.
At The Orchards of East Cherokee, located in Hickory Flat, the residents have been particularly active in scheduling events and activities. In the past year, as the community has gained many new homeowners, the monthly Meet and Greet dinner has expanded to being held three times per month.
“As more people purchase homes and move in to the communities, they bring with them more and more personal interests, said Mitch Block, sales and marketing director for The Orchards Group. “Because of this, we are seeing a growing use of the clubhouse, which is exactly the intention. Hopefully, we will continue to see new groups created, such as card groups or even movie groups.”
Other social groups and events that residents at The Orchards of East Cherokee have started include a Saturday night themed party, men’s coffee gathering, ladies lunch outing, craft club, book club and game days.
With so many activities and events taking place at The Orchards Group’s two communities, residents can have a packed social calendar year-round, or they can participate only a few times per year if they choose. Residents at these communities can live the perfect active adult lifestyle, because if their interests aren’t met with a current social group, they can create it!
